Keeping on Track for College
100 percent of Green Fields graduates are college ready thanks in part to our comprehensive college-counseling program. Our College Bound program supports students as they explore their interests and discover the colleges and universities that best suit their aspirations. Our unique college preparatory program emphasizes the importance of a rigorous course load combined with committed participation in extracurricular pursuits.
In addition, we strive to match students with campuses that provide the best fit for their academic abilities, intellectual interests and personal objectives. Students begin building their college application portfolios, including academic coursework, extracurricular activities, and community service, in their freshman year. Sophomores and juniors take the PSAT in the fall semester. In the spring semester, juniors take Advanced Placement (AP) and college admissions (ACT/SAT/SAT Subject Tests) exams.
Students explore career interests, create résumés, research campus environments and seek scholarship opportunities as they develop their college applications list. Seniors meet weekly with the college counselor until their process is complete. Many students submit their applications before the winter break so that they may devote their attention to the demands of their senior year. The counselor is available throughout your exciting college search and selection process to help ensure you’re on the right track for the right college.
Admissions officers from colleges around the nation visit Green Fields every fall semester, providing students with general school overviews and information about their specific admissions requirements. These opportunities benefit our students as they sharpen their understanding of higher education, and enhance our reputation as colleges learn more about Green Fields and its outstanding students.
