There is a vitality, a life force, an energy, a quickening that is translated through you into action, and because there is only one of you in all of time, this expression is unique.

And if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium and will be lost. The world will not have it.

My life has always been centered around the pursuit of giving others the opportunity to have art in their lives and to find ways to best encourage as many as possible to pursue the same. It is my opinion that the arts bring about rewards that go beyond the subject and the products of art--that to create is innate and it is essential to take time in our lives to maintain and use our creative skills. The process of creating art brings about personal and intellectual growth that is beneficial in every aspect of our lives. As a teacher I have the flexibility to allow students the freedom to investigate their own ideas as they discover multiple solutions to problems. Our alumni have gone on to tremendous successes in a variety of fields including those outside of the Arts; of the many things they have in common, one is the ability to think creatively.
