To read fiction means to play a game by which we give sense to the immensity of things that happened, are happening, or will happen, in the actual world...this is the consoling function of narrative.
— Umberto Eco

Caroline Fioramanti

English and Creative Writing, Grades 9, 10 & 12

B.A. Literature and Philosophy
B.A. Secondary Education

For Ms. Fioramanti, teaching produces adrenaline -- there's an energy that derives from the exchange of ideas and the generation of creative interpretation. She loves to witness students make connections between the text and the world around them, to begin to consider a value system. She loves when they ask questions about existing norms that do not make sense and find voice and meaning. To encourage this, Ms. Fioramanti creates a productive, safe, and challenging classroom environment.
