I have been a teacher for the past forty five years, over 30 of them here at Green Fields School, following the creative development of more than three groups of students from grades K through 12. The curriculum developed for these grades have included; applied arts, design arts, fine arts, art theory and art appreciation. Extracurricular choices have ranged from conference speaker, studio space design consultant to track coach. Awards and recognition have included; President’s Cup, University of Arizona Outstanding Teacher Award, Scholastic Art Quality Program Award, and the Arizona Council for American Private Education Award of Excellence.
I have remained productive as an artist throughout my life with success as a painter, illustrator and designer. My life has always been centered around the pursuit of giving others the opportunity to have art in their lives and to find ways to best encourage as many as possible to pursue the same. I am committed to teaching using meaningful visual experiences that bring about insightful observations. It is my opinion that the arts bring about rewards that go beyond the subject. The process of creating art brings about personal and intellectual growth that is beneficial in every aspect of our lives.
The students I have had the honor of meeting over the years of teaching here at Green Fields have been extraordinary. Our alumni have gone on to have tremendous successes in a variety of fields and of the many things they have in common, one is the ability to think creatively.
