When I was a boy of fourteen, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be twenty-one, I was astonished at how much the old man had learned in seven years.

I am a second career teacher. Working with children has always appealed to me, something I learned over the years as a parent, and after twenty years as a graphic designer I was ready for a change. September 11th was a personal turning point. On that day I realized I needed to make a more valuable contribution to society. I embarked on the path toward a new career in education and here I am at Green Fields! I love going to work, the children warm my heart and make me laugh every day, I love to watch their faces as they learn something new. They grow every day towards their future selves and I am proud to be a part of that. My only regret is I wish I had made the change sooner.

First grade participates in the annual Southern Arizona Regional Science Fair and has won the SARSEF First Place Grand Award for class science project in 2010, 2012, 2014, and 2017, as well as the SARSEF Director's Award for a class science project in 2013, and 3rd place in 2016 for Animal and Plant Sciences. I enjoy hosting the annual Jump for Heart campaign.
