Nestled once among the sunlit Alfalfa Fields of Tucson, Arizona in 1933, the land that would become the Green Fields campus was a working farm. Rubie and George Atchley, two passionate pioneers of progressive education, transformed it into a place of purpose and potential. Its twenty-acre campus blossomed into a living museum — where curiosity, compassion, and community flourished.

In 1998, a new pedagogy emerged: Accelerated Learning Laboratory (ALL), founded by visionary educator David Jones. With its roots in cognitive and behavioral science, ALL introduced a research-based model that enabled students to advance beyond traditional grade boundaries and learn without limits.

Today

Today, Green Fields is more than a school— it's a story that continues to be written, one student at a time.

The Griffin — symbolizing strength and wisdom — is the school's mascot, with colors white and green, representing brightness and growth.

2019

In 2019, Green Fields embraced the innovative approach of ALL — not to replace its values, but to deepen them. With the integration of ALL’s pedagogy, Green Fields entered a new chapter, one that honors its heritage while preparing students to meet a changing world with clarity, growth, and purpose.

Following the integration, David Jones continued to help guide Green Fields as Honorary Headmaster and Curriculum Advisor, bringing his educational philosophy and experience into the continued development of the school.
